I’m a digital artist with a deep passion for anime and manga art. My true artist journey pretty much started with CTRL+Z. When I experienced that and the limitless color choices and the number of tools I could use with art software, I was sold. Drawing digital anime art is the thing that makes me happy among eating cheeseburgers in between veggie meals.

Trials and tribulations in life and art business

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! This time the newsletter will be a bit longer as there are quite a few things I wanted to unravel and bring to light. Mainly, I believe these will likely help you make better decisions if you are thinking of art as your main passion and something that would make your life better if you could only be able to do it...

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! For the longest time, I’ve thought that only dynamic art makes things look interesting. Only dynamic poses for characters make them more alive and interesting. However, a few days ago, I realized that maybe it just isn’t so. Maybe dynamic art isn’t the only way for characters to look interesting and beautiful....

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! Not too long ago, I finally got the chance to watch Chainsaw Man - Reze movie as it landed on Crunchyroll (love that service - and only a few bucks a month). The movie was just insane (no spoilers incoming, so don’t worry). First, as the movie started, I was a bit hesitant and thought to myself will this be any...

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! I just recently watched an interview (a short, brief part on AI) with the CEO of Take-Two (Strauss Zelnick), and it was fascinating to see the viewpoint he had on AI. Like, think about it. While he didn’t say they use AI or that AI is their main creative innovator or anything of that sort. The thing that stood out...

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! A few days ago, I sent you an email outlining what has happened (roughly) in a year and so on. And no, I won’t be sending emails every other day…not going to happen. But I might send a few now that I’m starting to get my groove on. Direction It might also be that there are just so many things to say. I’m full of...

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! What happened this week or so... A member of mine posted this week about the concept of 10,000 hours. While the concept isn’t new or anything, it was a good reminder of how things work in life. This week I’ve been playing Metaphor: ReFantazio quite a lot, and as I was saving the game, I noticed that I’ve already...

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! What happened this week or so... Konnichiwa! I think it was like yesterday when I watched Gary V’s interview, and in it he said (not a direct quote) roughly something like subscribers, followers, etc., numbers don’t matter anymore. It’s all about interest. I personally think the numbers (followers, subs, etc.)...
