That fresh direction on anime art

Newsletter

Konnichiwa,

Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around!

A few days ago, I sent you an email outlining what has happened (roughly) in a year and so on. And no, I won’t be sending emails every other day…not going to happen. But I might send a few now that I’m starting to get my groove on.

Direction

It might also be that there are just so many things to say. I’m full of energy as my mind is starting to get clarity again. You know that direction. Direction in life, in art, in a lot of things. I also mentioned about the art book I’m about to start creating again. Even that is bringing me a lot of energy. Like now, there’s a goal for me. A meaningful goal.

Now, what is given is that I will definitely feel unmotivated to continue with the art book. Like that will just happen. It’s inevitable. It will happen. However, I hope my goal won’t change and that I will get back to it, even though desperation and unwillingness will surface down the road.

I think one of the most important things is to acknowledge that those days will happen and that these days where I feel energized will also happen.

YouTube

Now that I have a bit more clarity and direction with things, I will be publishing a lot of tutorials, courses, and time-lapses on YouTube. Yes, that’s one of the directions I’m taking. As I’m stepping back from business and leaning into art more and more, it means I want my tutorials and videos to be enjoyed by many people.

I won’t be publishing all videos at once; instead, I will be publishing those few in a week or so. Main point being that my focus will be on anime art and diving into fundamentals once more. Diving deeper into them and truly starting that path to mastery (never-ending, I may say).

And with that being said…

Discord

So a new Discord server has been launched, and people have been hopping into it already (which is exciting to witness). Now, as I’m new with it and things don’t yet work as intended, people didn’t get the role they should’ve gotten, and thus, they were not able to do anything in the server. Apologies for that. Yeah, I suck at that stuff…but I’m learning.

Now, if you haven’t yet joined, please do so at: https://discord.gg/XjgX47HcF

Now, why join?!

Well,I would say the answer is pretty simple. If you want to learn anime art with a group that is also learning anime art, then it’s a good place to start. Also, if you want to join monthly challenges that push you towards anime art mastery…then again, our Discord server is a good place to start!

Free Anime Artist’s Starter Pack

I’ve also created a nice little package to get started with anime art, and it’s totally free for you to enjoy. It has plenty of valuable guides in it. So don’t hesitate to treat yourself.

I mean, you can think of the package as something that kickstarts your anime art journey, but also acts as a fast guide to remind yourself why to use what layer modes and why add lighting, etc. It has a lot in it.

That’s all for now. I’m not launching any new product or anything, so treat these messages as just me wanting to share ideas and views with you. Hope to see you on our Discord server!

That's All!

That's it for this week's newsletter. I hope you enjoyed this newsletter and found it helpful in your journey to master anime and manga art.

Have an awesome rest of the day!

I’m a digital artist with a deep passion for anime and manga art. My true artist journey pretty much started with CTRL+Z. When I experienced that and the limitless color choices and the number of tools I could use with art software, I was sold. Drawing digital anime art is the thing that makes me happy among eating cheeseburgers in between veggie meals.

Newsletter Konnichiwa, Welcome to my (Okuha) newsletter! The newsletter is always more or less about anime and manga art, artist life, and anime, of course. I hope you stick around! What happened this week or so... A member of mine posted this week about the concept of 10,000 hours. While the concept isn’t new or anything, it was a good reminder of how things work in life. This week I’ve been playing Metaphor: ReFantazio quite a lot, and as I was saving the game, I noticed that I’ve already...

What happened this week or so... Konnichiwa! I think it was like yesterday when I watched Gary V’s interview, and in it he said (not a direct quote) roughly something like subscribers, followers, etc., numbers don’t matter anymore. It’s all about interest. I personally think the numbers (followers, subs, etc.)...
